This won’t be the last time we have to talk about scary issues with our kids. Universal principles that can be helpful are:

  • keep conversations open
  • monitor social media and TV
  • maintain a normal routine
  • review basic hygiene practices
  • give children a way to help (pack sack lunches, go door to door in neighborhood asking if elderly need any help)

Biblical Truths:

1-As Christ followers- we need to remember (Ps 46:1)…that God is our refuge and strength.  God has not given us a spirit of fear. God is still ever-present and all-knowing.  Christians should proclaim Christ’s peace in an atmosphere of fear.

2- We need to pray for all those who have been infected, our leaders, medical professionals and their families. Pray for God to work through us to prepare the way for a mighty outpouring of His Spirit.

3- We need to take necessary precautions & listen to the medical experts. Be sensitive and wise in the way we approach this.

Verses of Hope:

2Tim 1:7-For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control.

Joshua 1:9-Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Proverbs 18:10- The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe.

Matthew 6:26-34 -Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? ….

31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

We want to encourage you to trust God and not give into fear. Even during difficult and uncertain times, we know He holds the future.
