Episode 22- The Blue Print Series : INTEGRITY

00:00 / 36:06

Have you developed a set of blueprints for your child’s character?

You wouldn’t think of dropping off a bunch of building materials at a constructions site and start to build without a blueprint in advance. What’s the foundation on which we are structuring their lives?

Integrity is what we are when we are hidden from the gaze of others. It’s important to carefully develop a child’s integrity because all other skills and talents must submit to the demands of integrity. Integrity protects us. We never have to keep the lies straight or catalog the deceptions.

King Solomon said in Prov. 10- “He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.”

10 Ways to Teach Your Children INTEGRITY-

1. Drive the speed limit.

2. Never ask your children to lie for you.

3. Apologize when you wrong your children.

4. Send them into a store with more money than they need to buy a particular item. When they come our see if they offer the change.

5. Never tolerate even the smallest lie.

6. Pick someone out of a news story who committed a crime, and ask the kid’ opinion about it.

7. Fathers, never allow your sons to be disrespectful or rude to their mother.

8. Set up tasks that require their follow-through without supervision, and see if they carry out instructions on their own.

9. Take your children to visit their ancestors’ graves. If you know anecdotes about these ancestors (whether positive or negative), take time to share a few stories.

10. Have them memorize a few verses on integrity. (You may want to start with the 10 commandments.)
